The Glen’s new fresh food market hall opens on Thursday 19 October

Melbourne’s south-east is set to have a new destination for delicious casual dining with more than 10 new cafes and eateries opening in The Glen’s new fresh food market hall on Thursday 19 October.

Launching in the first stage in the centre’s $460 million redevelopment, many of The Glen’s new dining options are opening their first outlets in Melbourne’s south-east with their fare previously only available in the Melbourne CBD or iconic foodie destinations like Prahran Market.

Centre Manager, Richard Devlin said: “Food brings people together and our new market hall will offer the local community a vibrant destination where you can grab a juice or coffee while you shop or sit down and enjoy a delicious brunch or lunch with friends along with stocking up on an array of fresh produce, gourmet ingredients or all your grocery essentials.”

The plethora of new dining options at The Glen will include Nosh, Mr Bratwurst, Angie’s Dumpling Bar, Furuta Matcha House, Coffee Hit, Le Crois, Ferguson Plarre and Caffé Cherry Beans.

“Glen Waverley’s food scene is evolving and inspired by our diverse local community, we are looking forward to offering our new and loyal customers a melting pot of cuisines with an eclectic array of flavours from popular favourites to on-trend dishes available seven days a week,” Richard added.

Wellness experts Nosh will boast a menu that is designed to make you feel as good as it tastes with delicious, wholesome food that nourishes and energises with signature poke bowls and nori tacos.

Shanghai-inspired, Angie’s Dumpling Bar will dish up steamers loaded with an excellent range of succulent dumplings so customers can get their chopsticks ready and take their pick.

Traditional German BBQ from Mr Bratwurst gives customers the choice of kransky, cabana, bratwurst and more with all sausages cooked over a charcoal grill, then you add your toppings and enjoy in a freshly baked bun.

Caffeine lovers will welcome the addition of roastery and café, Coffee Hit which is renowned for bringing gourmet specialty coffees from around the globe with all coffee freshly roasted in-store along with all day breakfasts and leisurely lunch options available.

Customers keen to indulge in the matcha craze will be able to grab a drink or dessert from Furuta Matcha House which offers a range of oriental beverages – smoothies, frappes, freshly squeezed juices and teas along with tempting healthy sweet options from their signature matcha range.

Lovers of traditional sweet treats will be spoilt with Ferguson Plarre Bakehouse and Le Croix opening their doors offering a range of cakes, pastries, pies, quiches and slices seven days a week.

The Glen’s new all-day dining options are all a part of the centre’s new fresh food market hall which will offer customers 60 boutique food retailers and specialty stores, complementing the convenience of Australia’s three leading supermarkets – Aldi, Coles and Woolworths all available on one level.

To celebrate the market hall’s grand opening and the redevelopment’s first major milestone customers are invited to The Glen’s Your Market Festival from Thursday 19 October to Sunday 22 October which will include four days filled with cooking demonstrations, kids entertainment, giveaways and tasty samples to enjoy.

Under construction for six months, the $460 million redevelopment is creating ‘The New Glen’ – a local lifestyle and community destination where retail, dining and entertainment will deliver a premium customer experience.
