Vicinity Community Grants launches across four sites

Community groups are being encouraged to apply for the first round of Vicinity Community Grants, open throughout April. 

The grants are aimed at empowering local community groups to deliver programs and initiatives that strengthen community resilience and connectedness. Eligible local community groups can apply for grants up to $5000.  

Vicinity's Head of Sustainability, Meredith Banks said, "Vicinity Community Grants will enable local community groups to develop and deliver programs, events, and initiatives that strengthen our communities. 

“We're looking forward to seeing the positive impact these grants will have on our communities and are excited to continue building stronger connections with our customers.” 

Vicinity Community Grants is focused on four key areas: youth engagement and youth underemployment, environmental rejuvenation, education, and community well-being.

Applications will be accepted from groups in four municipal areas associated with;

• The Glen Shopping Centre (City of Monash) in Victoria

• Bankstown Central (Canterbury Bankstown City) in New South Wales

• Elizabeth City Centre (City of Playford) in South Australia

• Karratha City Shopping Centre (City of Karratha) in Western Australia.

Applications for Vicinity Community Grants will open April 3, and close on April 30.

Eligible community groups are encouraged to visit their local centre’s website to learn about eligibility and how to apply.

A total pool of $50,000 will be available across the four local government areas. Vicinity Community Grants reflects Vicinity's ongoing commitment to supporting the local communities where its centres are located.

In FY22 Vicinity contributed $2.9 million in community investment through targeted community programs.
