Vicinity releases third Reconciliation Action Plan

Vicinity has today released its Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2022 - 2024, reaffirming its commitment to help achieve a reconciled Australia and building on the progress made in its two previous RAPs.

Vicinity CEO and Managing Director, Grant Kelley, said, “The release of our Innovate RAP demonstrates an organisation-wide commitment to advance reconciliation and support the local communities in which we operate.

Our commitment to be an inclusive organisation is at the heart of our RAP. The business community has a major role to play in Australia’s journey toward reconciliation and Vicinity welcomes our opportunity to help shape a positive outcome.

 "We have great opportunities to pursue in employment, procurement and engagement with Traditional Custodians across our entire business.

“Over the course of our first two RAPs, we have achieved considerable progress in building relationships and increasing procurement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, but we acknowledge there is always more work to do.”

The RAP features a new artwork ‘Looking Forward’ created by Kaanju, Kuku Ya’u, Girramay woman, Emma Hollingsworth. The artwork signifies how Vicinity Centres is a place of community, progression, and inclusivity.

Vicinity began its reconciliation journey in 2017, delivering its inaugural RAP in 2018, and its second RAP just one year later. Since 2019, Vicinity has made considerable progress delivering programs and initiatives that support its reconciliation journey.
