Vicinity secures first tenant at Chadstone’s office tower, One Middle Road

Leading homewares retailer Adairs will move its national headquarters to Chadstone’s One Middle Road, as the demand for A-Grade office spaces outside of the traditional CBD continues to grow.

Adairs has secured more than 5,500 sqm of combined office and studio space in the One Middle Road office building, gaining access to the building’s exclusive amenities including an outdoor sky garden, business lounge and first-class end of trip facilities.

One Middle Road pairs exceptional quality of design with strong sustainability aspirations. Designed by leading global architects Hassell, it will be all-electric to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and target a 5 Star Green Star rating, reflecting industry best practice.

Due for completion in 2024, One Middle Road delivers on Vicinity’s vision for Chadstone to become Australia's leading integrated lifestyle destination where visitors can shop, dine, work, play and stay.

The One Middle Road office tower is one of four Chadstone projects currently under construction, in addition to a new fresh food precinct - The Market Pavilion, the new dining and entertainment precinct - The Social Quarter and the addition of 1,400 new car parking spaces representing an investment of more than $600 million at the centre.

This significant investment in the centre’s development is a further step towards recognising the important role Chadstone plays at the heart of an emerging 20-minute city in Melbourne’s south-east.

Colliers' Rob Joyes and Travis Myerscough managed the deal on behalf of Vicinity and have continued to receive enquiries from retailers seeking to relocate their HQs to fringe and metro areas.

Chadstone is co-owned by Vicinity Centres and the Gandel Group.

One Middle Road Highlights

Once complete, One Middle Road will contribute to a combined total of over 50,000 square metres of commercial office space at Chadstone

The total development is expected to generate more than 2,000 direct and indirect full-time jobs with construction of One Middle Road creating 410 jobs

The new 20,000 square metre One Middle Road office building will directly integrate with the fresh food and dining precinct, The Market Pavilion, currently under construction

One Middle Road will be delivered in collaboration with leading consultants Hassell, Robert Bird Group, ADP Consulting, Inhabit Group plus John Holland as the builder
