A brief chat with Assistant Development Manager, Kimberley Smith.
What has the Mornington Central project entailed?
Following extensive research and local consultation, we developed a strong concept and, with Insitu Group as our head contractor, we undertook extensive works over a 10-month period to transform the space into a beautiful fresh food precinct.
We secured an enviable array of fresh food-oriented retailers to join us. A first to the Vicinity portfolio, fresh fruit and vegetable operator, Oasis, opens in Mornington Central, complementing our second supermarket under roof, Woolworths, and a curated selection of new and returning retailers.
Complementing the new retailers, the Asset team embarked on an ambience upgrade sweep of works including a unique and abstract mural on the façade of Railway Grove, internal landscaping and updated finishes throughout the mall.
What do the upgrades mean for customers?
Mornington locals and tourists will enjoy new convenience with the ability to one-stop shop! With two supermarkets, multiple takeaway options, dine-in meals available to enjoy in a beautifully curated communal space, customers are spoilt for choice.
What has been your favourite part of the project?
The big unveiling of our new fresh food precinct. I have been warmed by the positive feedback from our customers upon the reveal of the updated centre, particularly towards our curated design approach and the exciting new retailers we've welcomed to Mornington Central.
After all the Asset Team’s hard work to get to this point, hearing the positive words of support from our retailers and customers really is the icing on the cake!
