Plans for a 105,000 sqm city-shaping development are set to transform Buranda Village into a modern, mixed-use precinct for the local community to live, work, shop and play.
Designed in consultation with a leading local architecture provider, the new Buranda Village will employ an architecture that is best suited to the Southeast Queensland climate while providing an abundance of landscaped public realm space for residents, shoppers and workers to enjoy.
Vicinity's commitment to sustainability is evident in its plans for Buranda Village with the project targeting a 5-Star Green Star 5-star NABERS energy rating, while also achieving carbon neutrality for the retail common areas.
The sustainability focus is extended into the design of customer experience, from sustainable, green travel via e-bikes and EV charging stations, to the use of subtropical landscaping and outdoor community spaces to reduce heat impacts.
The plan will deliver significant economic benefit, creating close to 580 jobs during the construction phase and more than 3,200 jobs long-term.
